Water Testing

Sometimes it’s better to have your water tested yourself instead of trusting the water quality report provided by your municipal water provider. Here’s one example why.
In recent years municipal water providers have been using more and more chloramine (to control unwanted bacteria in their distribution lines) because it’s more potent and requires fewer injection points to assure delivery of bacteria-free water compared to chlorine.
Chloramine can be effective further down the line than Chlorine. Whether your water provider uses chlorine or chloramine (or both) the concentration level that reaches your home may be lower (or much higher) than the sample taken and summarized in your annual water quality report. Chloramine levels will be much higher closer to the injection point than at the end of the water distribution line.
Homeowners with their own wells may also find it necessary to perform their own water tests. We offer many different types of water tests including testing for bacteria, metals, minerals, inorganic and organic compounds, VOC’s, trihalomethanes, pesticides, herbicides, PCB’s, radium and radon. If you don’t see the test you need here CALL for more comprehensive testing choices.
If you purchase our T5000 whole house system to clean up you well or municipal water supply here are the minimum test we recommend.
Measures Iron, Alkalinity, Hardness, pH & TDS
Measures presence or absence of bacteria only. If bacteria ispresent more comprehensive testing can then be performed.
Measures Iron, Alkalinity, Hardness, pH, TDS, chlorine, and chloramine. This test kit provides a prepaid overnight shipping label to send us your water sample (because your water sample must be received within 24 hours to accurately measure chlorine and chloramine levels in your water). If you plan to purchase a T5000 it will remove 100% of your chlorine/chloramine (and their harmful derivatives) regardless of their concentration in yourmunicipal water supply. For this reason you can instead utilize the less expensive Well Water Test Kit unless you want to know your chlorine and chloramine levels prior to installing your T5000.
These Water Test Kits will provide your water analysis within 2-3 business days of receipt of the water sample. If you are performing testing to meet a regulatory requirement or if your results may be used for litigation purposes; please CALL for more information about testing packages designed for those purposes.

Wow.This is a great product! I have wanted a reverse osmosis system but I live in an apartment and I didn’t see how I could hook up a system to the kitchen pipes. Also my kitchen is extremely small. This unit does not need to hook up to the sink and stand on the other side of my kitchen. It’s very easy to fill and in 10 minutes we have great water (we have been warned that the water in our area has certain pathogens and my immune system is compromised). We have been using bottled water which has it’s own set of problems with BPA, etc . This water tastes great and is doing the job so well. The unit even looks great.I couldn’t be happier. What a great investment in our health.
